Uni has certainly halted my work on the website but I am slowly getting a working system to allow me to update the blog a little more often.

My art skills have really improved and I cannot wait to use them in my quilting. My Designer Diamond is not happy a the moment so it is going in to be looked at. It has performed flawlessly since I purchased it so I am going to miss it for the few weeks that it is away.

In my sculpture units at uni I am able to work in textiles
so my experience in textile Art is very useful.

Just not enough hours in the day for me at the moment. I am busy with a cot quilt using die cuts and loving it.
I have used a variety of shapes and find that I generally need to alter all of them even when I use the exact measurements from the die label.  Maybe the die cuts are not a consistent shape with different fabrics.  I have been using wonder under behind and I find that the technique that I use will allows me to get a good result on the second go,

This was my first try with the Accuquilt cat die cut. This was trimmed around and looked OK but i measured a die cut exactly and then altered the design to get a much better result.

Placing the die cut on the corner of a piece of template plastic helped me to get the exact measurements. Mind you the metric square divides a cm into four parts - not so useful!  Once these were used in the software the applique stitched out beautifully.
The finished design is in the free design section.

I have at least got a few of the 5D tutorials on the site. Starting to get the hang of this software and I am quite impressed with what it offers for free,
Had an idea for a free video but the process turned out to be not as worthwhile as I thought It would be.

I am retiring from the busy everyday world and I now have a small farm in the wilds of Tasmania, Australia.  The embroidery industry has given me a good living for the last several decades so I now want to give something back..

I have designs that span the years and it is so easy now to make new designs with the modern user friendly software that I am happy to share my quilting designs and ideas with you for only a minimal or no cost.

If you have any questions about sewing or using the 3/4/5D Embroidery software please just ask.
